According to the Texas Real Estate Quarterly Report, Austin median home prices went up 10.2% in the second quarter of this year. That's huge. Despite lower oil prices, Texas Real Estate has stayed strong and even continues to rise which is a testament to the flourishing Texas economy.
For the first time ever, median home prices in Austin rose above $200,000. In 2014, the Texas Real Estate Center at Texas A&M reported that luxury home sales volume increased from 9-25% across the state. In Austin the luxury home market makes up 2% of the total housing market. We are seeing some amazing new luxury subdivisions in the surrounding areas of Austin.
With Apple and many other tech companies opening facilities in Austin we should continue to see the luxury market thrive.
