Happy Spring Break from Masters Touch Custom Homes of Austin, TX. Are you home this break? Well Austin, TX is a great place to be in the spring and there is surely plenty to keep you and your family busy for a week! Take a quick look at the top 10 things to do on Trip Advisor and you’ll soon realize that staying home is not so bad after all! Here are some great ideas for the break.

Go jump out of a plane…without really jumping! IFly in North Austin is an incredible indoor skydiving experience. Kids as young as 3 to adults gear up for two simulated sky dives that last several minutes each. The cost is $60 and the memories last forever. There is a trained coach that enters the wind vacuum with you as you learn the proper diving techniques. The coach will also give you a brief show of his tricks! Not into action activities? Well take a relaxing stroll down the hike and bike trail at the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail. You’re sure to enjoy the beautiful Austin scenery here year round. If you bring your bike, definatly stop and have a drink at Alta, which is a the southeast segment of the trail. The views of the lake and wildlife are best here! The whole loop is just over 10 miles, so if you’re up for a quiet stroll you won’t make it that far!

Speaking of Lady Bird Johnson and quiet strolls, make sure to visit the Lady Bird Wildlife Center. Here you will see gorgeous gardens of wildflowers almost year round. Well marked, easy trails wind around the property and take you through the many formal garden areas. Admission is $7.

Make sure that you don’t miss South Congress for an afternoon shopping experience and dinner. I think this is the area of town that is what “Keeps Austin Weird.” Sit outside and sip on a margarita while listening to live music on the outdoor stage at Guero’s Oak Garden. The kids can dance as you sip! One final suggestion for your staycation is that you go to the Broken Spoke! You haven’t lived until you’ve spent the night dancing at this fun dance hall from the past. It’s nestled in between modern buildings on South Lamar and still looks like it did in the early 60’s. Step inside and you feel like you’re going right back to the 60’s!! Bring your dancing boots and get ready to have a great time.

Now, I’ve saved our personal favorite for last…This is a Masters Touch Custom Home favorite activity in Austin. Electric Bike tours are all the rage! At Rocket Electrics on Riverside Dr. you can rent an electric bike for as little as $40. They also offer foodie tours and a tour of Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail! If you like to enjoy your ride without all the sweat…this is the way to go. Have a fun-filled Spring Break and enjoy your vacation or staycation!
