Design Trends in Austin

temp-post-image

Austin is a weird place. We love art, music, food trailers, and we call damned-up rivers lakes. We’re home to intellectual movers and shakers as well as entrepreneurial and artistic spirits. Design in Austin is as eclectic as our people. We strive to build out homes to suit the personal tastes of each client while at the same time educating them about current design trends.

We try to build timeless masterpieces not easily defined by an era. Transitional homes are those that blend traditional with modern an can become classics on the block. You may notice our neighborhoods are spotted with red brick traditional box homes next to ultra-modern contemporary architecture. The two styles compete for glory and their differences are vast. What if there was a middle ground that provided a more classic look? That’s transitional!

Relaxed furnishing and minimal accents are found in a transitional home. Traditional, worldly pieces combined with clean crisp lines and neutral colors create a nimble transition between contemporary and traditional. You can mix metals in transitional design. Shiny chrome can be carefully paired with bronze. Cream, camel, beige, cafe au lait and chocolate are safe neutrals that you can add a modern splash of color to for added visual enhancement of a room. Stick with one bold color in transitional design.
